Dishwasher vs Dishsoap

On Sunday night I walked into the Kitchen and see water and soap bubbles pouring out of the dishwasher onto the floor. I immediately told Avery we had a problem and he needed to see this. I was informed at that point that "someone" may have used dishsoap since we were low on dishwasher detergent. We opened the door and the pictures below are what we saw. I wish I had taken a picture of the outside but "someone" wouldn't let me. I will say that we had a very good laugh about this one.

New Crib!

We finally got Kylie a crib last week. She had one before but it was a smaller crib like the ones used in a daycare. It worked perfect for us the last 10 months but now that she's getting bigger we needed something with more room.

She loves her new bed! The first time we put her in it she climbed up and held onto the sides jumping up and down. It was really cute.

Kylie - 10 months

My little girl is growing up a little fast! She hit the 10 month mark and it made me think back. In her little life we have moved 2 times, she's been on 3 roundtrip airplane rides and driven across half the country.

We've recently discovered that she loves the pool! Our apartment complex has two of them - with one right behind our building so Kylie and I have been frequenters to the pool. I must say I'm a little jealous of my babies tanning abilities! She is plastered with sunblock and somehow has tanner legs than I do.

She makes friends fast. There's a cute little boy at church who is two months younger than her and when they have playdates or see each other at church the two of them just light up with smiles and start cooing at each other. She does have a problem with stealing his toys during Relief Society so we do need to work on sharing.

We definitely love our little girl and have lots of fun playing with her, reading to her, taking her on walks, etc. We are very blessed to have her in our home!

Isn't that the cutest little face!

Kansas and back to Ohio

Kylie loving life now that she can pull herself up on furniture
Kylie and I had our own row on the flight to Pittsburgh so I buckled her in to give my arms a rest

Her first Royals game! We went with cousin Gino and his family and Tracy and Matt! So fun!

First family I watched in Ohio - minus one child. Kylie had a ball playing with the twins!

Second family we watched in Ohio - minus one child. Kylie loves these kids!

Yes, I do realize I have not blogged in 2 months. Unpacking is not fun but we made it safe and sound the first part of May. I haven't taken pictures of our apartment - mostly because I still have a few more boxes to unpack so you will have to wait. We have been making friends and are very thankful to have family nearby. Kylie and I have already been to 2 Royals games with our awesome cousins and they have already called to have Kylie come play. And of course I took her over!
After being here for 4 weeks we were flown back to Ohio to watch kids. One family bought our round trip flight to watch their 4 kids for 4 days. Then another family (who I have been watching the last year) asked me to extend our trip to watch their 6 kids for 5 1/2 days. In between "jobs" we were able to spend time with Avery's family and Kylie really enjoyed seeing her Grandparents as well as her aunt and uncle. Thank You Mary for all the driving around you did for us! I must say I was very happy to get home and lounge around the pool for the next few days.
My little baby who is not much of a baby anymore is crawling everywhere. It is so fun to see her explore everything around her and I don't even mind that she's pulling books off my bookshelf. She's also starting to pull herself up on things so walking may not be too far behind. Kylie has 4 teeth now, 2 on top, 2 on bottom and we're starting to give her table food. One thing I am extremely happy about is that I finally got her to take a sippy cup while in Ohio! For those of you who know she refuses to take a bottle - this is HUGE!

Still in Ohio

Been awhile since I blogged last but my computer is in Kansas so I really do have an excuse for no updates.  I've been taking lots of pictures so there will be lots to catch up on once we get there.   I have two weeks left in Ohio and it's starting to hit me now.  Lots on my list to do before we go.  One of which is head down to Columbus to see a very dear friend of mine.  Another is go to Kirtland for one last tour...  Watch my old vball team play a game and of course say goodbye to everyone.   Oh and I have to go shop at H & M.  That is very important.  : )

Kylie got sick for the very first time a couple weekends ago and it was awful.  Not having Avery around to help me out was not fun.  Her temp was 103.8 and she was puking and coughing and crying.  I felt so bad for her.  For 48 hours so would only sleep if I was holding her so I of course got zero sleep the whole weekend and come Monday she still was not 100% but we had to go watch the kids anyway.  Needless to say, she ended up getting two of the kids I watch ended up with it at different times last week.

Easter was fun.  I had a friend from church invite me to her parents house for Easter dinner.  They were loads of and I'm very thankful they let Kylie and I share the Holiday with them.  Then, Kylie and I crashed the Rice's family gathering. The Rices have been my family away from home since I moved back here 5 yrs ago so I couldn't leave without saying goodbye to them.  I will forever be grateful to them for welcoming me into the Fam.  I will miss all of them so much!

Avery is loving his new job but of course wishes his wife and daughter were there with him.  We love and miss him very much and can't wait to be reunited in a couple weeks!

Good-bye Ohio

My pilot hubby got a new job last month so we were off to Kansas. It's not Utah but we are sure getting closer. Avery reports to his new job next week but Kylie and I will stay behind to continue our adventures in babysitting. Perhaps it's my way of lingering the move to Kansas... Although from all the people I have talked to in our new area it seems to be a great place. In fact, I've found I have a cousin who lives near our new apartment. I just don't know said cousin. Never met him or if I have met him I was under the age of 4 and have no memory of it. The move is a good thing and I hope to love Kansas as much as I've loved Ohio. It will be sad to leave the friends and the volleyball circuit but I'm sure I will make new friends and hopefully Kansas has volleyball leagues.

Kylie on the other hand getting really big. She had her 6 month checkup last week. I can't believe she is 6 months old already. Time goes by so fast! She still fits in most of her 3-6 outfits but since I'm bored with her clothing I have transitioned her to 6-9 month clothing.... She weighs 16 lbs 9 oz and is 25 1/2 in long. She's a lot of fun. Very vocal, giggles a lot and makes friends everywhere I take her. She's sitting up on her own now and loves the jumperoo and catches some great air. She must have my hops...ha ha ha... If only I could get her to sleep through the night.

Kylie - First Feeding

It's hard to believe my little girl is now eating rice cereal. I wanted to hold her off for awhile but she gets so mad at us for eating in front of her that I figured she was ready. Plus her whole life she's watched me feed Cali (the 14 month old baby I watch) and I guess Kylie wanted to try eating too. She was a natural. In fact, she'd steal the spoon away from me and feed herself! When I stop feeding her to grab my own bite of food she doesn't appreciate the pause she prefers me to keep feeding her until she thinks she's done. It's very cute. There are a few pictures below for your enjoyment. : )

We can't believe how quickly our precious baby is growing. Just over a month ago Kylie started rolling over. She will roll from her left side but hasn't quite mastered it from her right side. At first she would get mad after she rolled to her belly but now she either rolls back over or cries until we move her back on her backside. It's really cute to watch her as she's getting more mobile.

She's now trying to sit up on her own. She does last a few seconds before toppling over but she's learning. The family I babysit for has a Bumbo chair and she enjoys sitting in there while I feed the other baby and make the older kids meals. That chair is a great invention - it gives the child an opportunity to see their surroundings without feeling strapped in.

One bad habit Kylie has learned recently is screaming at the top of her lungs. She's found her voice and loves to hear it. It's definitely high pitched and tends to hurt your ears after awhile but it's still pretty cute.
